DB0RBX // EQUIPMENT

What the station is made of, and where it really hears — measured from every decoded frame

Station hardware

Antenna
UHF eggbeater, 400–470 MHz, omnidirectional, circularly polarised. Fixed — there is no rotator, so the pattern below is the whole story.
Receiver
RTL-SDR Blog V4 (R828D tuner, TCXO), 2.048 MS/s, RF gain 38.6 dB — set from a gain sweep against the local noise floor.
Computer
Raspberry Pi 5 running the SatNOGS client in Docker; gr-satnogs flowgraphs demodulate, rigctld applies the Doppler correction.
Decoding
Packet, APRS and telemetry frames on the Pi (gr-satellites and own decoders), SSTV images from the recorded audio, APRS packets heard via satellite forwarded to APRS-IS as DB0RBX-6.
Location
Regensburg, Germany · JN69ba · 49.04° N, 12.14° E · about 340 m above sea level
Station
SatNOGS #5238 ↗, scheduling automated: packet, APRS and SSTV passes first, 70 cm, about 48 h ahead
